Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a University ID to use my meal plan?
Yes. You need your University ID to use your meal plan at all dining and retail locations. If you have lost you ID, please visit the IWU Security Office to obtain a new one.
What is Munch Money?
Munch Money is our IWU specific dining dollar. Each of our meal plans come with a set number of Munch Money per semster to be used in dining and retail locations on campus. Munch Money transactions, either dining or retail, are tax free purchases and can be used by swiping your student ID. Additional Munch Money can be purchased and added to your account by going to the Shop Tab at iwu.sodexomyway.com.
What is a Meal Exchange?
We understand that sometimes you want to mix up your dining options. That's why we offer Meal Exchanges as part of our Meal Plans.
In our retail dining locations on campus (Tommy's, Subconnection, el Tazon, and Titan Brew) meal plan holders can pick from a number of specified meals that count as a meal exchange, meaning they are using 1 of their meal swipes for the week on a retail dining meal instead of using a swipe in the Commons. (ex. A student with 14 meals a week uses a Meal Exchange to buy a sub from Subconnection, once they use this meal exchange, they will have 13 meals remaining for the week.)
Each Meal Plan comes with a specified number of Meal Exchanges a student is allowed to use per week. Once they hit the maximum on their Meal Exchanges, they will have to wait for their plan to refresh on Saturday night, or use Munch Money to pay for their transaction.
Where can I use my Munch Money?
You can use your Munch Money at all dining and retail locations on campus. This means you can use it to grab coffee at Titan Brew, a sandwich at Tommy's, and then pick up some snacks from the Dugout to take back to your dorm all using your student ID. If you are ever running low on Munch Money but want to keep snacking, you can add more by visiting the Shop Tab on iwu.sodexomyway.com.
I have dietary restrictions , can I still enjoy a meal at Bertholf Commons?
Absolutely! We understand that everyone has different dietary needs and want all of our visitors to have a delicious experience! The Commons offers a few different solutions for those with Dietary Restrictions: Simple Servings, a station dedicated to being completely free of the top 9 most common allergens, gluten free options, and a vegetarian food bar. Our online menu shows students all of the nutrition information about a certain dish and alerts to any possible allergens or dietary information that may need to be noted.
Need something different? You are always welcome to reach out to Dining Services at (309)556-3167 to talk about your dining options. You are also encouraged to speak with our Regional Dietitian, Jessica Airola (jessica.airola@sodexo.com), to walk through all of your options or set up a health and wellness plan!
Do you offer gift packages to send to my student?
